How to spot a bad friend

A friend in need is a friend indeed. We all at some point in life referred to someone as a friend. This could be someone you've know from childhood or probably someone you met at school, church or work. We all need a friend at some point in our lives and the reason some individuals decide to keep off the fried zone is due to some bad experience they've had with friends.

Let's take for instance now, I'm Nigeria, a lot of people most especially girls have develop a habit of keeping besties. See have been lucky to have such friend around them who have helped them in several ways at different points of their lives while some have severally suffered and even died from the hands of their besties. Are you such a person who has a friend and want to recheck and be sure of the kind of person you keep as a friend? Well ponder no more as I will give you 10 tips to help you identify the bad eggs amongst them.

1. They are bad listeners: we've all had bad experiences or we could have been in a tight urgent situation and we always seek that one person to talk to and seek advice from. A bad friend will never pay attention to the things that bothers you, they barely listen and can easily change the topic and you'd end up feeling empty.

2. They only show up at good times:  you just got that cheque or probably got a new house or just post yourself having a good time on social media, these set of maggots will hop-in in no time to enjoy your hard earned work and then disappear when things go sour, you need to flee.

3. They're jealous of you: you might be thinking, "what do I have to make them jealous?", My dear it take more than fortunes to get  these bad friends jealous of you. It could be your beauty, your degree, your spouse/boyfriend, the way you even walk or talk etc. They're are less interested when you talk about any of the above and you can easily read the jealousy on their faces

4. They gossip about you: if you have a friend that talks too much and always talk about people and yet always say negative things about them, then you've got a friend who also talks bad about you behind your back. Such people are not good to keep secrets with because once the sun sets, your secret will be all over town.

5. They will never celebrate you: just call them and share them a good news about yourself and hear how cold they react, you might as well be shocked on what they'll say once the call drops.

6. They'll intentionally hurt you: they'll play harmful and stupid pranks on you to hurt you, they'll intentionally want to disgrace you in public especially in front of someone you care about, like a crush. There have been death cases on friends playing stupid pranks on their friends which led to their deaths. If you have a reason to live please disassociate yourself from such people.

7. They'll never support you: they can never spare their time to show you support and cheer you up then the least you should expect is for them to be there when you're down.

8. They steal from you: it could be your money, your assets or your ideas or even your lover.

9. They hold grudges and want to revenge: you might have wronged them and have seek for forgiveness, a bad friend will not only not forgive you, they'll seek to take revenge and this can be very dangerous because it might cost you your life, just stay away if they refuse to forgive.

10. They'll never tell you the truth: your makeup is bad, your outfit is inappropriate, your hair is not well done, they'll never tell you, they'll rather let you embarrass yourself outside but when you're all looking fine they'll tell you the opposite. Just listen to your mirror okay.

So there you have it, what did your friend score? A 10/10?(lol). As for me it's not necessary to have close friends or numerous friends and it's not everyone you should identify as your Friend, there are colleagues, classmate, co-workers etc. These few words are enough for the wise, have a friendly day 😊.
